 Dr. John Poser is a board certified surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He has been in practice in Gainesville, Florida since 1983.
A clinical professor at the University of Florida, Dr. Poser is past chief of surgery at Shands at AGH. He is a medical graduate of Northwestern University. Dr.Poser completed both his surgery residency and plastic surgery training at Boston University, where he received special training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Poser comes from a family of physicians. His father is a general surgeon at the Poser Clinic, Wisconsin's 2nd oldest clinic, founded in 1896 by Edward Poser; Dr. Poser's grandfather.
 Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Poser is a member of the Florida Medical Association, American Medical Association, Alachua County Medical Society, American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, International Society of Plastic Surgery, and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Poser has surgery privileges at both Shands at AGH and North Florida Regional Hospital. The practice is located in the Ayers Medical Center across from Shands at AGH. This cosmetic and reconstructive surgery center is an accredited surgery center.
