Juvéderm Volbella® XC

Lips are one of the first indicators of age. As we age, our lips may begin to thin and the area between the upper lip and nose can lengthen. Enhancing your lips to a plumper appearance and reducing the appearance of vertical lines will help restore a youthful look. Juvéderm Volbella XC can revive your lips to without appearing unnatural. For all-encompassing cosmetic procedures and Gainesville plastic surgery, consult Dr. Poser at Poser Plastic Surgery Center.

What Is Juvéderm Volbella XC?

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid gel which is inserted into your lips through injection. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body and helps provide skin with nutrients in order to retain its moisture and texture. Lidocaine is added to the injection in order to reduce pain. Juvéderm Volbella XC has a thinner consistency compared with other Juvéderm products and it's specially made for the lips.

Once injected into the lips, the gel restores the natural volume and removes fine lines that appear on lips. We also offer several other options for Gainesville lip injections, and lip enhancement procedures to help patients restore volume and a youthful facial appearance. Incorporating lip injections into other procedures is popular among patients who undergo mommy makeovers as well.

Juvéderm Lip Injection Procedure

For safe and predictable results for natural looking lips, Juvéderm Volbella XC should only be administered to patients by a medical or aesthetic medicine professional. The process for administering Juvéderm Volbella XC injections begins with a thorough cleansing of the face. Then, a numbing cream is added to reduce the pain of the injection and the filler is injected into the lips.

His experience and knowledge allow him to use extremely thin needles in order to accurately insert small amounts of the gel. The amount of gel added will depend on the unique requirements for volume and smoothing of lines for each patient. Dr. Poser will finish the procedure by applying a numbing agent to the affected area to prevent discomfort following treatment.

How Long Do Lip Injections Last?

After a period of time, the hyaluronic acid will break down and be absorbed into surrounding tissues. However, positive effects may remain for up to twice the amount of time traditional collagen treatments. A significant portion of our patients who receive lip injections of Juvéderm Volbella XC experience improved satisfaction with their overall lips as well as increased volume to vertical lines on the lips one year following initial treatment. When treated with Juvéderm Volbella XC one year following initial treatment, patients often require less product to achieve their desired results. This type of lip injectable is designed to add subtle volume to the lips and to smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines. Patients can expect to see results immediately following the procedure. Once natural swelling dissipates, the lips will appear visibly fuller, more voluminous, and any visibility of lip lines will be reduced.
