What Is Juvéderm Voluma XC?

The entire selection of Juvéderm injectables targets different areas of the face to increase volume and restore smoothness to the face in a manner which appears natural. Juvéderm Voluma XC is a formulation designed specifically to target the cheeks. Adding volume gives the appearance of an immediate lift that restores contour commonly lost through age. This filler is made of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid, a natural material present in the body. It is a safe option for providing a subtle lift to the face without undergoing facial cosmetic surgery.

How Does Juvéderm Work?

Professionals who administer Juvéderm Voluma XC are few and far between when it comes to the skill and training necessary for providing expert results. Dr. Poser has training and hands-on experience performing plastic surgery and facial reconstruction in addition to dermal filler injections. He provides consultations to address all physical concerns and desires for cosmetic procedures on an individual basis. The process of dermal filler injection typically requires less than an hour for completion once topical anesthesia is administered. A series of small injections containing numbing lidocaine and hyaluronic acid filler is made in the cheek area to add volume. Gentle massage distributes the product to prevent any issues.

Candidates For Juvéderm Voluma XC

Any male or female who is over the age of 18 and those who are in generally good health who seek a subtle anti-aging procedure may be candidates for dermal filler injections, such as Juvéderm Voluma XC. Dermal fillers are a temporary solution to a lack of volume in the cheeks, so patients who seek a more permanent solution should consider a facelift or mini facelift, among other types of plastic surgery. To ensure candidacy for injectable fillers, contact us today to schedule a consultation with our Gainesville cosmetic surgeon.

What Are The Results Of Juvéderm Voluma XC Treatments?

Each patient is given the amount of filler required for their individual aesthetic desires. The face immediately shows an increase in fullness in the cheek area, but it also provides a lift to the lower parts of the face. This corrects sagging skin around the mouth and under the chin to reverse the signs of aging. Patients may see results to the injected area of the face for up to one year without the need for re-injection of the dermal filler. Additional injections may thereafter be required to maintain the desired degree of fullness, firmness, and overall volume. Patients who seek volume to the lips may also elect to receive injections of Juvéderm Volbella XC.

Risks Of Juvéderm Voluma XC

Complications are minimal with the administration of Juvéderm Voluma XC. Following the injection, it is recommended that patients rest for a minimum of 24 hours to allow the site to heal. Patients may notice facial tenderness, mild swelling, redness, bruising, lumps, itching, discoloration or firmness to the injection sites within the first two weeks, which will dissipate shortly thereafter. During each consultation, Dr. Poser takes the time to set expectations of what clients have reported experiencing through the recovery process. Patients who follow closely the guidelines for aftercare typically experience a reduced occurrence of side effects.
